Offshore Medicals from Getwell
These are the special medical examinations done for the Offshore Staff. The offshore medicals are carried out to ensure an individual is fit to work in an offshore oil and gas exploration and production environment and travel to a specific country, and to promote good health in general.
There are few test which are mandatory and then are some other advanced test , which are done if medically indicated..
Medical assessments can be carried out at our own medical centers or at our designated facility.
Communicating results quickly and accurately is a key part of our service and we now offer online certificates, faxed certificates and telephone confirmation of failed medicals, alcohol tests or non-negative drug screens.
OGUK Offshore Medicals
Offshore workers need to pass an Offshore Medical Examination if they wish to work offshore.
The OGUK Offshore Medical is valid for two years and allows an employee to work in the UK sector or the North Sea, or other offshore locations. There are cases , when the medicals are issued for one year.
An OGUK Offshore Medical at Getwell consists of the following:
- Completion of Patient Health History Questionnaire
- Urinalysis – routine urine test with immediate result
- BMI – measurement of height, weight and calculation of Body Mass Index
- Near, Distance and Color Vision
- Pulse and Blood Pressure Measurement
- Lung Function Test (peak flow)
- Audiogram (hearing test)
- Consultation with an OGUK doctor
Seafarer Medicals (Coast Guard)
Seafarer Medicals are the main medical fitness certification for those who work at sea. An Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA) approved doctor is required to issue the ENG1 certificate after a full medical has taken place.
