Oil and Gas UK Medical Examination
OGUK is a medical required by some employers or companies before personnel can be deployed to some offshore workplaces around the world.
Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. It is a not-for-profit organisation, established in April 2007 but with a pedigree stretching back over 30 years. More info at www.oilandgasuk.co.uk
The medical must be undertaken by approved doctors who have a special ‘pin’.
A OGUK medical includes:
- Detailed Medical History, including vaccine review
- Physical Examination – including doctors review and measurements of such things as height, weight, vision, urine
- Audiometry (hearing test)
- Spirometry (breathing test)
If you pass, you receive a certificate of fitness. This OGUK (formerly UKOOA) certificate is valid for 2 years, however some persons may be given certificates of shorter duration if they have medical problems that need earlier review.
It takes about 60-90minutes with the doctor and nurse. The results will be available at the time of your medical appointment. If you are fit, you can get your fitness certificate immediately.
This includes the necessary audiometry (hearing test) urine check, and spirometry (breathing test) – these are performed at our premises. We undertake a routine vaccine review as part of our medical check. Vaccines if required will incur an extra cost. Some companies require a drug and alcohol test at the same time but that is not strictly part of the OGUK medical.
We keep your results on file so you can email for advice if you require vaccine related information about future trips.
We perform OGUK (formerly UKOOA) medicals at our city clinic – usually in the morning. If you would like to request an appointment for a OGUK medical please call 0504505865 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
After we receive your request, we can email you your medical form to have it completed before arrival. research paper about biology
